Aspire - Academic Intervention for Teachers
Introduction
Aspire is a comprehensive educational platform that allows teachers to manage various aspects of their teaching, including academic interventions. Adding academic interventions in Aspire can help teachers track and support students who need additional help. This guide will walk you through the steps to add academic interventions in Aspire.
Steps to Add Academic Intervention
Adding from Class Lens:
- Once logged in, go to the 'Academic Interventions' Tile. This can usually be found on the class lens.
- Choose the student for whom you want to add an intervention. You can search for the student by name or ID.
- Click on the 'Add New Intervention' button. This will open a form where you can enter the details of the intervention.
- Fill in the necessary details such as the type of intervention, start date (defaults to today's date), end date (don't include if you want data added for the whole year), and any specific notes or goals. Be as detailed as possible to ensure the intervention is clear and actionable. Intervention information should only include information that all users are allowed to view.
- After entering all the details, click 'Save' to add the intervention to the student's profile.
Adding from Grade Book:
- Teachers can initiate a student intervention by clicking on the 'i' (intervention icon) in the teacher grade book on the 'Score Entry' Screen. Selecting the 'i' in the grade book will open the Academic Intervention web page in a new window.
Regularly review the interventions you have added to monitor the student's progress. Make adjustments as needed based on the student's performance and feedback.
Tips for Effective Interventions
-
Be Specific: Clearly define the goals and expected outcomes of the intervention.
-
Regular Updates: Keep the intervention details updated with any progress or changes.
-
Collaboration: Work with other teachers, parents, and the student to ensure the intervention is effective.
-
Documentation: Keep detailed records of all interventions for future reference and accountability.
