Aspire - Residential Address - Google Plus and GPS
Google Plus Codes and GPS Coordinates are usually only needed for rural areas in Utah that have not been assigned county addresses.
This can be areas such as Indian reservations.
Google Plus Codes and GPS Coordinates are only needed as a last resort when submitting addresses to UTREx will not validate and are causing warnings or fatal errors.
Users need to make sure the address is correct in the Residential Street and Street 2. Many addresses fail because they are not correct. Always validate addresses with the parent/guardian/contact by asking them for a utility bill that displays the exact address. Make sure spellings are correct.

Residential Address Field
The Google Plus codes and GPS Coordinates field was added to be able to add Google Plus codes and GPS Coordinates for schools who have students who DO NOT have a legitimate address issued to them by the county. This field is used for LEAs who are getting warnings/fatals on addresses that are not validating in UTREx.
UTREx Address Validation error. These warnings will turn Fatal next school year.
This new Residential Address field has been added for School Districts.
Charter Schools most of the time will not need to worry about using this new field. This address problem only affects School Districts in rural areas where addresses may not exist.
Please Leave the other Residential address fields with the address information you would use for other uses for students. Addresses for showing on transcripts, report cards, etc. DO NOT add Google + codes or GPS coordinates in Residential Street field or Street 2 address field.
This UTREx address validation error is occurring because School Districts who are in rural areas in Utah - where some families do not have a legitimate county registered address assigned to their location.
These Google Plus codes and GPS Coordinates will need to only be used when the address fails validation in UTREx. Using these codes are a last resort for fixing address warnings / fatal address errors. After LEAs roll over to the new school year 2024-2025 and start submitting data to UTREx, these address warning errors will turn fatal.
The first process of correcting the failing address is to always make sure the address is entered correctly. The validation may be failing legitimately because the address in entered wrong. Please follow up by asking parents/guardians to see a utility bill that would display a correct address.
Google Plus Codes / GPS Coordinates (optional) - these are two different types of addresses. You only enter one or the other in this new field.

These are two separate types of address Codes – You will only select one code or the other when entering them in the Residential Google Plus Code /GPS Coordinates field in Aspire.
These Formats: 85GCQ458+7G|38.7331.5925 are an example of what your codes should look like. You can use either type of format.

Once opening the Google Plus codes screen –
At the top of the screen – you will see the field you need to add the address in to find the Google Plus code or GPS coordinates.
Put in the complete address location to retrieve the Formats: 85GCQ458+7G|38.7331.592
The Google Plus Code will display at the bottom of the page. This is the NOT the right code you will put in the Google Plus Codes field in Aspire.

After retrieving the information - CRITICAL - Select the Arrow at the Left of the information.
The arrow pointing up - will take you to the Google Plus Codes and the GPS coordinates.
The Google Plus Code is NOT the Q458+68 – do not use this code.
The google Plus code is the top one and underneath it is the GPS coordinates.
Copy ONLY one of the codes to put in the field in Aspire by highlighting it and pasting in the Google Plus Code|GPS Coordinates field in Aspire.

Paste the Google Plus code in the field in Aspire in the Google Plus Code | GPS Coordinates field.
