Aspire - Setup for Additional Teachers to a Class
Steps to Adding an Additional Teacher
Log in to Aspire
- Ensure you have the necessary administrative privileges to make changes to class assignments.
Navigate to the Faculty Lens
- Search for the teacher you want to add as additional teacher. Ensure that the teacher is already in the Aspire system. If not, you will need to add them first.
- Add the Job Title Teacher (even if the faculty member is not a teacher and does not have a CACTUS ID Number).
- If the faculty member displays a different job title, it must be changed to "Teacher" in order to access the Additional Teacher Feature.
- Please add the Permissions Group Teacher to provide the Additional Teacher with the necessary permissions for the application to function properly.
Select the Class from the Master Schedule
- Select the summary tab.
- Select the teacher and course for adding an additional teacher.
- Select Modify.
- Select the faculty member from the drop-down menu in the additional teachers' field.
- Select the modify class to save the information.
More than one class for Additional Teacher
- Additional teachers can support multiple teachers.
- The same process applies when adding to another class.
Notify the Teachers
- Inform both the current and incoming teachers of the changes and provide any required training or information on how they will divide responsibilities.
Notes
-
This setup is solely for Additional Teacher for Aspire access and is not submitted to UTREx as the official teacher of the class.
-
Additional teachers can be added to help with attendance and student monitoring.
- Additional teachers can be utilized to provide adult substitutes with temporary or extended access to courses for attendance and student monitoring. If it's temporary, be sure to remove the additional teacher from the course once their work at your LEA is completed.
- Additional teachers can assist special education teachers in monitoring and supporting the academic progress of their students.
- Extra teachers can be utilized for team teaching, with one teacher entering grades and the other handling attendance and academic knowledge of the students.
By following these steps, admins can successfully add a second teacher to an existing class in Aspire, enhancing the learning experience for students and providing additional support for the teaching staff. If you encounter any issues, contact USBE https://apphelpdesk.schools.utah.gov
