34 STEPS
1. The first step is to open a web browser and visit USIMS website. Start here.

2. If you registered with the (SSO) Single Sign-On option, please click the button to use your Microsoft or Google Account

3. If you previously registered a USIMS account because you did not have a Microsoft or Google Account to use, please enter your email address and USIMS password, then click Sign in

4. You are now on the Educator Licensing Portal in USIMS. Please allow a few moments for the system to determine what task items need to be completed.

5. Start with the task under "Checklist."

6. Click Educator Ethics Review to enter the task.
When you hover over this task, it turns blue, indicating you can click to enter, and complete the task.

7. This is the intro page to the Ethics Review. You'll find a link in the 2nd paragraph which pulls up the Board Rule pertaining to this review.

8. Once you are ready, click Take Ethics Review to Begin.
Note: There will be 25 questions, and you must pass with an 80% or higher. As long as you remain in this task, you can complete it in one sitting.

9. Please allow a moment for the question to load from the selection bank. Thank you for your patience.

10. Here is some information to help you with the layout of questions.

11. You're welcome stop the review by cancelling it. You can log back in at a later time or date to start the Ethics Review again. It's suggested to set aside 45-60 mins to complete this task.

12. Click "Cancel Review" to stop, then log out of USIMS. This button is on every question.

13. Question # will show here, so you can judge your pacing by how many questions you've answered.

14. Most questions will cite a scenario and specific Utah Code/Board Rule and display it. Carefully read and review the information.

17. The Answer you select will turn blue. You can still edit the choice at this point since you have not submitted the answer.

18. Click Submit to proceed.

19. If you answered the question correctly, your answer will turn green, and the word "Correct!" will appear in green, along with an explanation of why from this scenario and answer align.

20. Click Continue to proceed to the next question.

21. Here is what the question looks like if you answer incorrectly.

22. Click Submit

23. Your answer has gone from blue to red, the correct answer has turned green, and below is the word "Incorrect!" in red with a brief explanation as to why this is not the correct answer.

24. Click Continue to proceed to the next question.

25. Once you have completed the 25th question, Click Continue

26. You see a statement with your score on the final page. Remember, 80% or higher is passing. If your score is below 80%, you will be offered another chance to complete this task again.

27. Click Home to return to the main Educator Licensing dashboard in USIMS.

28. That's it. You're done. The task item has now moved to the lower half of the Educator License Portal Dashboard, and shows as completed with your score. No further action is needed for this particular task.

29. If you did not pass the Educator Ethics Review Task, it will remain towards the top of your screen in the "Checklist."

30. When you hover over this task, it turns blue, indicating you can click to re-enter, and see details about the task.

31. The first page of the task looks different now. There is a statement displaying the date of the last time you completed the Ethics review.

32. You are always welcome to retake the Ethics Review again, but it is NOT REQUIRED. To proceed, click "Take Ethics Review"

33. If you are satisfied with your score, and are not being required to retake the Ethics Review now, you're welcome to click "Home" to return to the Educator Licensing Dashboard of USIMS.
