19 STEPS

1. The first step is to open a web browser and visit USIMS website. click Sign in or sign up

2. If you do not have a Microsoft or Google Account to use for the Single Sign-In Option (SSO), then you will need to click Sign up now in order to complete new user registration.

3. Select the first field and enter your Email Address. It can be a personal, a school, or a work email address. Just make sure you will be able to remember it. It will be your username in the future to access USIMS.

4. Click Send verification code

5. Check your email for a 1 time verification code.

You will now receive a system-generated email. Check your email inbox. Details below:

Don't see the email notification? Please search your Spam or Junk Folders for anything with the above referenced details.  

6. Click Box Labeled Verification Code.

7. Type Verification Code from email you received.

8. Click Verify code

9. Click the field New Password

10. Enter a password.

11. Click field and type your First Name

12. Click field and type your Last Name

13. Click field and type your Given Name (this is sometimes similar to your first name).

14. Click field and type your Surname (this can be similar to your last name).

15. Click field and type your Display Name (this can be a preferred name or moniker you go by).

16. Click Create

17. That's it. You have completed registering as a new user for USIMS. Make sure to maintain your login username and password for future use. You are now at the main Educator Licensing Portal Dashboard.

18. Please allow a few moments for the system to determine what task items need to be completed.

19. After a few moments, you should see task items generate in a checklist. If you do not, please log out and close your browser, then log back in. Contact the USIMSHelp@schools.utah.gov if you experience technical issues.
