Setting Up New Classrooms in Schools
The Classroom Editor defines classroom attributes for a school site such as room numbers, building, classroom type, and seating capacity. The list of classroom types must be defined in the Schools > Codes > Classrooms before it can be used in scheduling and classroom setup for the Seating Chart to take attendance.
Define Classrooms
On the Schools lens, click on Codes:

Select Codes again -

Select - Classrooms. This is a sample list of the different classroom types you may have in your LEA. These Classroom Types will be used to identify classrooms in your schools.

Add – Classrooms

If you are setting up codes for the first time, add the classrooms by selecting ‘Add’ to open up a New Classroom for setup

Here you will enter
Room: this is the number given to the room.
Title: this is what is going to show in on the Master Schedule for scheduling.

Classroom Type: This is the type of room it is. The options are what is entered into in the LEA codes for Classroom Type.
Building: Optional - This is the building in which the room is located. This is especially useful if you have multiple buildings.
Capacity: This is the number of seats in the room. This field is used on the Seating Chart setup for teachers. Make sure to add enough seats for the size of the class can fluctuate.

Click Save. You will get a confirmation message, and the classroom added to your list when it has been saved successfully.

If you have a multipurpose room, for example, that serves as your cafeteria and your gymnasium; you cannot have the same room number. You must select identifiers for each, such as C-100 for Cafeteria and G-100 for Gym.

Editing/Deleting Classrooms in Schools
It is from this list that you may also edit or delete the classrooms. BE CAREFUL – it is not a good thing to delete classrooms – they may be linked to courses and will cause courses to break.
Note: you may edit all entries except for the Room Number.

This data is then added in scheduling under Master Schedule
